Results
The Florida Public
Officials Design Institute at Abacoa is dedicated to improving
communities by offering elected officials training in smart
growth and design. We believe that education changes lives,
and in this case, changes communities. Sometimes the results
of the Design Institute recommendations are immediate while
other ideas germinate for years, or surface in another form
as a result of the shift in thinking. The project profiles
presented in this section documents the known progress or
changes made as a result of a community's public official
participating in the Design Institute program.
